Dad's birthday.

On Saturday, Jason turned 31. Even though we had all had a pretty rough night and were awfully tired, we had a lovely day together! Lorelei took us out for brunch (and charmed the wait staff and other restaurant patrons, as usual), and then we went on a walk on DeKalb's nature trail.

Later that afternoon, Lorelei helped Jason to open his presents -- this one was a book she picked out for him for their nightly bedtime story ritual.

Even though she was up crying until 11pm again due to her exhaustion from Friday's late night, I think Jason agrees it was a great way to spend his first birthday as a dad!
