new stroller.

Jason got a new stroller for his birthday -- Lorelei helped him put it together, by which I mean crawled all over the backyard and tried to eat dandelions.

two pairs of dimples!

Once it was finally assembled, they took it out for a spin -- it was a little chilly, but a good time was had by all!

friends.

Last Monday was a playdate with BFF Natalie

(it was so sunny I couldn't see the viewing screen on the camera to focus!)

...and then a visit from Uncle Gary and Aunt Bridget, who are expecting a baby boy this September!

Then on Friday we had lunch at The House Cafe with Suzi and her son Jacob, who was very sweet with Lorelei:

Dad's birthday.

On Saturday, Jason turned 31. Even though we had all had a pretty rough night and were awfully tired, we had a lovely day together! Lorelei took us out for brunch (and charmed the wait staff and other restaurant patrons, as usual), and then we went on a walk on DeKalb's nature trail.

Later that afternoon, Lorelei helped Jason to open his presents -- this one was a book she picked out for him for their nightly bedtime story ritual.

Even though she was up crying until 11pm again due to her exhaustion from Friday's late night, I think Jason agrees it was a great way to spend his first birthday as a dad!

why is this night different than all other nights?

Last Friday night, we were lucky enough to be invited to Rachel and Ron's house for a Passover seder. This was quite the adventure for our little family of three: it meant keeping Lorelei out way past her bedtime, but we decided to risk it. We had grand plans for putting her down to sleep at her normal time in Ezra's room, then getting her up to drive home later in the evening. So, after putting her in a darling little gingham dress and packing up a fruit salad and lots of baby supplies, we were off to Chicago!

Notice anything about this picture? Is it the lack of a cute gingham dress? That's because Lorelei refused to go to sleep! She was crying with such gusto and sadness about being left alone during the party that we had no choice but to get her and bring her back out with us. Until 9:30pm, when we left. And then she cried all the way home and didn't go to sleep until after 11.

But she had a BLAST during the seder! I wish we had taken some pictures/video of her with Ezra -- he was so enamored with her. (Favorite moments: when he came bounding into the room, kissed her on the head, and said "Hello, pretty girl!" and when he asked me if they could have a playdate together. So sweet!) She was in a good mood for almost the whole evening and enjoyed getting to see all of her relatives, like her great aunt and uncle whom she had never met before.

busy little bunny.

We've been very busy around here lately -- Passover, Jason's birthday, Easter, playdates... so I'm behind on the blog. Here's a cute pic to tide you over -- and I'll be back with updates soon!

Gramma B comes to town.

We had a whirlwind weekend visit from Gramma B during her spring break -- she had to race back home to start slaving away for the upcoming MCAs (MN standardized testing), but we're glad she squeezed us in to her busy schedule! Lorelei enjoyed getting to show her all about our favorite park:

And Gramma B was determined to help Lorelei drink out of a sippy cup, which made a certain stubborn baby laugh a lot:

Thanks for the fun times!
